Latvian striped skirts had different colors and patterns depending on the region. A bit like the variety found in the kilts of the British Isles at the time. This is a shawl wrap reminiscent of the stripes of Madona, the region where my stepdads family lived, in the same homestead going back to the 16th century when church records started keeping track. The place is magical, even though the house is long gone.
I used many thin strands of cotton, silk, kid mohair. Its super soft, chunky and fluffy, like an ultra weight brushed fleece sweatshirt. Cuddly and warm.
29" (74cm) wide and 38"- 52" (97 - 132cm) top + bottom around will fit most everyone.
