I used to think, why on earth spend time picking berries if you can just pay for them? Now I think, why on earth pay for berries, if you can justify spending a day in the woods, or in a cranberry bog picking them? Its like worry bead meditation. The squishy bog ground can be scary, especially if the small firs lean sideways as you pass and you understand that you are walking on a moss mat on top of water. I am afraid of falling through, but the hand picked cranberries, not to mention the day of peaceful meditation are well worth it.
