My neighbor saved a lupine. He dug it out of the meadow a day before the meadow was cut for hay. I just happened to mention that I wanted a lupine, and so I was given the plant and it is thriving by my front door. This year we took the lupine seeds and planted them in a spiral trail through my meadow.
