There was a guide and cook who spoke Mongolian and German, a Mongolian man and his grandson on horseback who led the camels carrying our gear. No one but the guests spoke English. Somehow we managed. I knew that I would not be able to wash my hair and needed to get by with only wet towelettes for 10 days, I expected the worst but it was surprisingly not bad at all. We slept in tents and walked for hours and hours each day.

Sometimes you could look back and see how far you had come, we would be told that we will get to those far off mountains today. I could not believe it at first but you can actually walk for an amazingly long distance in a day.
