I took a two week bicycle ride through Catalonia a few years back. The valleys are dotted with tiny stone walled hill fortresses that were built to keep the Moors at bay. Some families have lived in the same stone home for many centuries. The remodels are amusing, half arches from old roadways buried in the third addition to a rambling many generational home. This roadway, up a steep hill, with the most beautiful pebble patterns just enchanted me. Someone put in a lot of effort very long ago to build something beautiful that has stood the test of time for centuries.

Chunky knit and completely reversible, switch sides according to your mood for the day. I knit this with a combination of local grown Latvian wool, kid mohair, cotton and silk. All the colors are hand blended during the knitting process. I hand sew the seams using scrap ends from my other sweaters leaving knot ends as a boho touch. Its part of my zero waste attempt. I PREWASHED this sweater on a wool cycle and then laid it flat to dry, so go ahead and do the same.
