All the ponds are just about dried out this summer. No rain for months and Latvia is usually a squishy wet mossy land. This year its dry enough to sit down while picking cranberries in the bog without getting wet, usually you are ankle deep in water. The waterlilies barely had enough water to survive. My well still has water, but most of my neighbor's wells dried out a while back. Lets hope for a lot of snow this winter to replenish the ponds and wells.
